  • Turning a Pumpkin Stem into a Tree Stump

Posted on October 27th, 2003 Rob No comments

In this article, well look at the process of taking a common (yet seasonal) object and turning it into a piece of wargamming terrain. Doing this made me realize that, with the right idea and technique, nothing is safe from wargamers.

  • MKD Dream Team 4

Posted on October 4th, 2003 Highland_Piper No comments

When thinking of the Dream Teams the first thing I try to do is make a combination that is different and rarely used by most players. Why you ask (or even if you did not ask)? Because I've noticed a trend in teams that most players use, and they are all about the same. With all the different options of Heroes out there I knew that different combinations can be used. Besides they would only collect dust at the bottom of your storage bin, and that is a waste of money. The next thing I look for is to make the team fun and challenging, even difficult at times. This time I also wanted to add a theme. I got several. This team is a Range Combat Team, Has one figure from each Dungeons booster (Dungeon, Pyramids, Hero Quest, and Dragons Gate) and by accident they are all Female.

  • Non-Metallic Metal Painting

In this excellent article, used with permission from Dragonpaint's site, we look at painting Non-Metallic Metal:

This technique start from the study of the paint masters and illustrators. The first example I have seen that use this technique extensively comes from Rackham painters. Their works are amazing and the way they can recreate the look of metal using non metallic colors has incited me to try it. This picture sequence show you the basic method to follow but bear in mind that you have to experiment and if you use more passes you obtain a better result.

  • Making Chain Mail

Posted on August 22nd, 2003 Rob No comments

First off, there are several ways to spell chainmail: Chainmail, Chainmaille,
and maille. It is often refereed to as Maille (by people who are in the art
of making maille), but is most commonly known as chainmail. Before you start,
you'll want to decide if you want to make your own rings, or order them
premade. Making your own rings is pretty easy, and quite cheap. I'll start
off by saying how to make the rings. If you want to order premade ones, then
    skip over this section.

  • MKD Dream Team 1

When playing Mage Knight Dungeons the perfect team can be a difficult and critical decision you will make for that game. Many players (myself included) fall into a slump and never try any new teams or combinations. This will cause their MKD experience to go stagnant.

In the DREAM TEAM articles we will try to spice up your game by offering you new options for teams, may they be your standard teams with a different format or an unusual combination that challenges your mind.
